Michelle Pickett

Michelle Pickett is the Democratic incumbent for DeKalb County Board District 8, a DeKalb resident who has served on the board since January 2022. She is the director of the Academic Advising Center at Northern Illinois University and brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education, including academic advising, student retention, and program assessment. She holds a Doctor of Education degree.

On the county board, her committee assignments include the Executive Committee, Health & Human Services, and Facilities & Technology.
