2026 General Election

Joyce A. Klein-Munch

Democrat for County Board District 4

“Focused on public safety, common-sense county government, and a self-sustaining county nursing home.”

Joyce A. Klein-Munch is the Democratic candidate for DeKalb County Board District 4, running for her first term on the board. She brings more than four decades of DeKalb County public-safety experience to the race, having spent her career with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office — roughly 25 years in jail command, rising from lieutenant to Chief of Corrections before retiring in 2021.

As Chief of Corrections she helped plan and oversee the county jail’s major expansion, a roughly $34 million project that opened in 2018 and addressed decades of overcrowding. Her campaign emphasizes county safety and law enforcement, careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars, keeping the DeKalb County nursing home self-sustaining, responsible economic development, and informed management of the county’s water and energy resources — framed around a commitment to common-sense government.
