Joseph H. Berning

Joseph H. “Joe” Berning is the Democratic candidate for Illinois State Senate District 45, a northwest Illinois seat spanning all or part of Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago counties. A Galena resident, he spent roughly 45 years in sales and marketing before recently retiring from his own business, JB Consulting.

Berning has been active with the Jo Daviess County Democrats for more than eight years and is involved in the Galena/Jo Daviess County Historical Society, church music ministry, and civic groups. Married to his wife Chris for more than 45 years, he is a father of three and grandfather of eleven. His priorities include representing constituents of every party, replacing the flat tax with a fair, progressive system, and strengthening family farms.
