Jim Luebke is the Democratic incumbent for DeKalb County Board District 9, a DeKalb resident who has served on the board since 2014. He previously served as a DeKalb Township Trustee from 2009 to 2013 and remains an active figure in local government and the county Democratic Party.
On the board he has been an advocate for immigrant-community safety, supporting a county Welcoming Ordinance, and has emphasized fiscal responsibility. He advanced unopposed through the March 2026 Democratic primary to the November general election.
