2026 General Election

JB Pritzker & Christian Mitchell

Democrat for Governor & Lt. Governor

“There is no one who fights harder for working families than Governor JB Pritzker, and I am deeply honored to be his choice for Lieutenant Governor.”

Governor JB Pritzker is seeking a third term in 2026, running alongside Christian Mitchell as his candidate for Lieutenant Governor. First elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022, Pritzker has overseen a period in which Illinois balanced its budget, earned multiple credit-rating upgrades, raised the minimum wage toward $15, and enshrined protections for reproductive rights and workers.

Christian Mitchell is a former state representative who served Chicago’s 26th District from 2013 to 2019 before becoming Pritzker’s Deputy Governor, where he helped lead the state’s landmark clean-energy and infrastructure initiatives. Most recently vice president for civic engagement at the University of Chicago, he is also a first lieutenant in the Illinois Air National Guard.

Together the ticket is campaigning on continuing to lower costs for families, defending Illinois values against federal threats, and building on the administration’s record of investment in education, infrastructure, and clean energy. Both are lifelong Illinoisans with deep ties to Chicago and communities across the state.
