Fellow DeKalb County Democrats,

The DeKalb County Democratic Party is proud to announce the results of a number of votes taken at our May Central Committee meeting last night. The election of Rukisha Crawford as Chair of our Party’s Fundraising Committee and the election of Steve Kapitan as Chair of our Political Affairs Committee finishes out our Party’s Executive Committee. Steve’s long political experience in DeKalb County and Rukisha’s energy and new perspective will be valuable additions to the Executive Committee in this busy Election year.

The Party also unanimously approved the nomination of Liliana Orozco of Sycamore to represent our Democratic Party as the candidate for DeKalb County Treasurer in the November 6th General Election. Liliana, an Industrial Engineer by trade, was moved by the election of Mr. Trump to sign up on the Run For Something website. Liliana was contacted after the Party received her name from the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (who has partnered with Run For Something). In the coming weeks, Liliana and many of our Democratic Precinct Committee People will be out gathering the required number of signatures to allow her to be placed on the November ballot.
The DeKalb County Democratic Party would appreciate your support in giving the voters of our County more, better choices on their ballot in November.

In Solidarity,
Jim Luebke
